Innovation in Dynamic Management of Production Phases and Operational Efficiency

The ProdPlan project stands out for its implementation of an advanced solution that enables dynamic and precise management of processing phases. The central feature is the integration of calendars linked to workstations, overcoming the traditional GANTT-based approach to offer an interactive and adaptable display based on a real calendar.

Advanced Management of Production Phases

The implementation of workstation-related calendars required a significant review of the data and scheduling logic within ProdPlan. Thanks to this innovation, it is now possible to plan work phases dynamically, calculating the expected start and end times of individual operations, even for existing phases. This calendar view provides operators with greater clarity in terms of timing and facilitates resource planning without affecting daily operating procedures.

Extended Dashboard Features

Changes have been made to the ProdPlan dashboard to improve data access and performance understanding. The main revisions include:

  • Removal of the “product” column to simplify the display of key data.
  • Addition of the columns “total time spent,” “total estimated time,” and “time ratio” for an immediate and in-depth view of production times. These new metrics allow you to intuitively compare the estimated time and the time actually spent, facilitating real-time productivity monitoring.

Detailed Reporting by Operator

ProdPlan introduces a new report dedicated to production times per operator, which allows you to:

  • Verify production efficiency by comparing estimated and actual times for each order.
  • Remove the initial ID display and replace it with the order number for greater data clarity.
  • Aggregate and display the total hours, thus facilitating accurate monitoring of individual operators’ performance.

Absence Management and Weekly Calendar

A table dedicated to absences has been added to monitor attendance and manage resources more efficiently. In addition, ProdPlan introduces a weekly calendar view, allowing for more detailed and immediate planning of operational activities.

Structural Changes and Productivity Optimization

ProdPlan also includes new structural changes to improve performance analysis:

  • Introduction of a new column to calculate the time taken per piece produced, excluding any rejects, to obtain an even more accurate performance metric.
  • Implementation of productivity charts that allow performance to be viewed over specific periods, with customizable filters for date range, department, and operators.

Integration with PresentWeb: Synergy between Attendance and Production Phases

The integration between ProdPlan and PresentWeb is crucial for accurate management of processing times. PresentWeb handles attendance tracking via ID badges, while ProdPlan verifies in real time the presence of open production phases at the time of clocking out. This synchronization allows you to:

  • Automatically stop time tracking if an employee clocks out without suspending the work phase, preventing any discrepancies in statistical data.
  • Generate a weekly report that can be viewed by the administrator, containing detailed information on the user, date, time, work order, and phases.
  • Display a notification to the operator at the next login and, if necessary, send an SMS to inform them of suspended operations.

Technical Architecture and Flexibility

ProdPlan has been designed to integrate seamlessly with existing systems, using an API architecture for communication between modules. The use of programmable cron jobs for API calls allows for flexible control of the frequency of checks, based on the customer’s operational needs.

ProdPlan is the solution designed for those who want more accurate, dynamic, and integrated management of production processes. With an approach focused on operational efficiency and precise time control, ProdPlan represents a strategic evolution for companies oriented toward continuous improvement of their productivity.
